On 20 September 2025, approximately 40 people gathered at the Parnell Peace Embassy and the Auckland War Memorial Museum to mark the United Nations International Day of Peace. Organised by the Universal Peace Federation New Zealand, the event centred on the theme “United for Peace – Celebrating Our Shared Harmony”, and drew together religious leaders, faith communities, and ambassadors for Peace for a meaningful afternoon of reflection and action.
The half-day programme commenced with an inspiring collective prayer for peace and reconciliation, setting a tone of unity and hope. Participants then joined in a symbolic Peace Road march, travelling from the Parnell Peace Embassy to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. This visible act of solidarity highlighted the community’s commitment to justice, dignity, and mutual respect.
