The event “Srebrenica – 30 Years After the Committed Genocide” was held in Sydney on July 26, 2025, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica. Organized by the Bosnian Community Council of NSW and Universal Peace Federation Oceania, the program was educational in nature and entirely conducted in English. It featured powerful testimonies from survivors, remarks by government officials and academics, and a panel discussion. Key messages focused on remembrance, education, prevention of future genocides, and global solidarity. The event was held at UPF’s prestigious venue, marking the first time such a gathering was held outside of Bosnian community venues in Australia.

A moving testimony by survivor Mirela Muratović, who lost both parents during the genocide as a child, deeply impacted the audience. Her emotional story of survival, resilience, and advocacy for peace exemplified the spirit of remembrance and the call to never forget Srebrenica.
