On August 30, 2025, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in collaboration with the PEFTOK Grandchildren’s Association successfully held a symposium entitled “The Role of Patriotic Youth on Nation Building” at the PEFTOK Memorial Hall. The event was attended by 63 descendants, comprising 18 parents and 45 young people, who gathered for a day of informative and value-centered lectures.
The symposium’s discussions focused on countering communism through a God-centered ideology that promotes true love, altruism, and forgiveness, values essential in realizing an
ideal world and world peace. As descendants of Korean War Veterans who fought against communism, the participants are committed to carrying forward the legacy of defending freedom while embodying these core values to create a society free from selfishness.
The lectures, delivered by distinguished speakers including Dr. Julius Malicdem, Rev. Leo Angelo Halog, Rev. Ronnie Sodusta, and Dr. Edgar Tanate, were highly impactful, offering deep insights into the role of patriotic youth in nation-building and the global mission of peace. The symposium was an enriching experience for both parents and youth, fostering a stronger sense of purpose and unity.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event, 20 volunteer young people from eight countries; Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Fiji, Thailand, Solomon Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, performed cultural presentations, including the Song of Unity and Pure Water Dance, enlivening the gathering. The participation of the Heavenly Top Guns in these performances was warmly appreciated.
The symposium successfully empowered the grandchildren of Korean War Veterans and the next generation of leaders with a renewed vision of patriotism, peace, and nation-building grounded in faith and enduring values.
