The Community Service and Environmental Appreciation Activity in Ranzo, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro brought together international students and youth leaders from the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) – Pilipinas together with 서울남부 금천교회 AMT (Align Membership Training) and Heavenly Top Gun (HTG) Korea for a day of meaningful engagement and learning on January 23, 2026. The activity aimed to foster cultural exchange, provide community support, and promote awareness of environmental conservation, particularly the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.

Morning: Community Service at Ranzo Elementary School

The participants visited Ranzo Elementary School in the morning. The program began with a warm welcome by Punong Barangay Hon. Arnel Nambio, who expressed gratitude to the visiting group for their efforts in supporting the local community. This was followed by an inspiring message from Pastor Kim Seon Hak of 금천교회, emphasizing the value of service and giving back to society.

Members of 서울남부 금천교회 AMT presented a program showcasing their mission and cultural performances, which delighted the students and staff. Following this, the students of Ranzo Elementary School also gave a presentation, sharing their talents and welcoming the visitors in a show of appreciation. The highlight of the morning was the distribution of school supplies to the students, which not only provided material support but also strengthened the connection between the visitors and the local community, fostering a spirit of care and collaboration.

Afternoon: Environmental Appreciation Activity

In the afternoon, the group shifted focus to environmental conservation with a visit to the Ranzo Fish Sanctuary in Barangay Ranzo, which was recognized in 2025 as Para El Mar’s Best Managed Marine Sanctuary in the Philippines. The visit aimed to help participants better understand the importance of marine conservation and sustainable practices.

Facilitated by Coach Rence Falcunit of La Roca Migrencia Resort, participants received a diving orientation before engaging in hands-on activities. The afternoon was filled with excitement and learning as participants enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, and free-diving in the sanctuary’s crystal-clear waters. These activities allowed them to observe marine life firsthand and appreciate the ecological value of the sanctuary.

Overall, the Community Service and Environmental Appreciation Activity successfully combined community service with environmental education. It strengthened cultural and youth connections between the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) – Pilipinas and 서울남부 금천교회 AMT, promoted awareness of marine conservation, and provided participants with a memorable experience of service, learning, and fun.
