The Philippine Christian Leadership Conference conducted the Philippine Clergy Peace and Nation Building Conference Mindanao on September 3 to 4, 2026, at the Brokenshire Resort and Convention Center in Davao City, Philippines. Guided by the theme “Stand Together: Faith, Family and Peace” and 2 Chronicles 7:14, the two-day gathering brought together 110 participants from all over Mindanao, including clergy, faith leaders, speakers, organizers, and community representatives. The conference provided a venue for spiritual formation, reflection, fellowship, and cooperation for peace and nation building.

The initiative to conduct a PCLC event in Mindanao was inspired by Pastor Gregorio Presores and Elder Edwardo Busque. After attending a PCLC event in Manila, they were moved by its message and experience and helped advance the vision of bringing a similar gathering to Mindanao. The conference also reflected the heart of the Philippine members to continue moving forward despite the situation of True Mother. It affirmed their determination to become more united and steadfast in advancing the providence. 

The program opened with praise, the Philippine National Anthem, invocation and doxology led by Archbishop Elias Soria, welcoming remarks from Hon. Pilar Braga, PhD, and messages from Rev. Leo Angelo Halog and Dr. Robert Kittel. The first day featured sessions on “God’s Heart and Nature,” “Two Tragedies,” and “The Essence of Jesus,” presented by Dr. Julius Malicdem and Dr. Robert Kittel. Group discussions, an icebreaker, community singing, written reflection, survey completion, and fellowship meals enabled participants to engage with the messages and build relationships.

The second day began with morning devotion led by Ptr. Manuel Geronimo and continued with sessions on “The Holy Community” and “True Family and Pure Love Movement.” These sessions emphasized faith, family, moral leadership, and strong communities as foundations for peaceful social life. Discussions and group activities encouraged participants to reflect on applying these principles in their respective communities in Mindanao.

A major highlight was the Water of Harmony and Peace ceremony led by seven representative religious leaders from different areas of Mindanao. The program also included messages from Dr. Reynaldo C. Navacilla and Dr. Julius Malicdem, a PCLC Mindanao video report, participant reflections, and an intermission presentation. The conference inaugurated PCLC Mindanao through a ceremonial gong striking and appointed its senior advisers and coordinators. The event was also graced by Rev. Yutaka Yamada, Chairman of PCLC Asia Pacific, who delivered an online congratulatory message via Zoom, together with recorded messages from other Christian leaders. 

The event concluded with certificates of participation, a closing call to action from Rev. Leo Angelo Halog, a group photo, a closing song, prayer, and announcements. The PCLC Mindanao event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of blessed families and members across Mindanao, together with generous donations from abroad. Overall, the conference strengthened fellowship among the 110 participants and established a platform for PCLC Mindanao to continue supporting faith-based leadership, family values, peacebuilding, and nation building in the region.

Pastor Marcelo O. Bangon 

The Seventh-day Adventist Church shared his heartfelt reflection during the program. He expressed how meaningful it was to learn more about family and the importance of standing together in faith. As a pastor and father, he felt inspired to teach his congregation about becoming good citizens and faithful people of God. He was especially happy to hear new insights about the Garden of Eden, where the story of Adam and Eve was explained with symbolic meaning. He also learned about the Heavenly Parent—God—who always guides and helps us. These teachings gave him deeper understanding and strengthened his commitment to share them with others. The PCLC emphasized the vision of standing firm in faith until Jesus comes, and the mission of reaching people in remote areas so they may know more about God. Alongside this, affiliate projects were introduced, including the Youth Character Development Program, Pure Love Education, and Family Values Education. This reflection and fellowship highlighted the importance of unity in faith, family values, and education, inspiring everyone to continue working together for God’s will.
