Upon returning from the seven-day Spiritual Growth Workshop, pastoral work immediately resumed with a series of home visitations, beginning just one day after arriving in the beautiful island of Mindanao, particularly in Region 10. These visits served not only as opportunities for pastoral care and strengthening relationships with families, but also as an important avenue for advancing the 2nd Generation matching application process. Several qualified candidates who are already within the appropriate age for matching are presently being prepared for endorsement and interview.

Alongside pastoral visitation, visits to several Education Centers were undertaken while mobilizing for the important works ahead, including the planned Mindanao PCLC launching. As part of the region’s renewed witnessing initiative, Head Pastor Sylvia Deapera,  also visited Manticao National High School, where they were warmly welcomed by the School Principal  Wolfran Elma, and the former OIC Honey Nale. This initial encounter provided a meaningful opportunity to introduce our purpose, establish rapport with the school leadership, and explore possibilities for future witnessing and youth-oriented engagement.

 These activities have required  to respond simultaneously to various local and international responsibilities, including concerns surrounding Holy Mother Han, while continuing to attend to the immediate needs of our local families, communities, and young people.

Despite experiencing illness for more than ten days, the work continued through the faithful support of Senior Pastor Nelson Arca, whose genuine heart of service has become increasingly instrumental in strengthening the Iligan ministry. In particular, his initiative in cleaning, repairing, and restoring the deteriorated portions of the Iligan Blessed Families Education Center has demonstrated that pastoral leadership is expressed not only through words and programs, but also through humble and practical service.

 As the week concluded, another meaningful step was taken through the agreement of our local leaders—Senior Pastor Nelson Arca Jr., Loreta Mayo, Local BFD Coordinator, and myself—to conduct a seven-day Divine Principle education series, beginning Sunday, August 16. This initiative reflects our shared determination to strengthen the foundation of faith and leadership among our members and to prepare them more substantially for the mission ahead.

The past week has been a season of renewed commitment, perseverance, and shared responsibility. Even amid personal limitations and multiple demands, the work continues because the mission is sustained not by one person alone, but by the willingness of each leader and member to serve for the sake of the greater good. The school outreach, continuing pastoral care, matching preparations, Education Center development, and upcoming Divine Principle education series all give us renewed hope that, through unity and sincere service, the foundation for a stronger and more vibrant regional ministry can steadily be built.
