On 30th Aug 2025, our Young Generation (YG) family held a special bonding day with the theme “Annyeong Korea”. A total of 13 YG members and 3 babies joined, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

Preparation

The Kitchen Team, made up of Sister Shiho, Brother Keni, Brother Song Gee, Sister Soon En, Sister Tiffany, Brother Junjie, and Brother Princeton, arrived early at 2:00 pm to prepare the ingredients for kimbap and set up the environment. We would also like to give special thanks

to Aunty Cecilia and Uncle Kenny, who supported us in many practical ways such as helping in the kitchen, buying important items such as ice, and assisting us in finding the right equipment and utensils. Their help made the whole preparation smoother and more efficient. By the time everyone arrived at 4:00 pm, the space was welcoming, organized, and ready for the program.

Opening Session

Once everyone had gathered, we began with an opening prayer led by Brother Princeton, setting a sincere and grateful tone for the day. Our program was smoothly guided by our emcee, Brother Song Gee, who worked hard to keep the flow lively and engaging. Thanks to his effort, the transitions between activities were smooth, and the energy in the room stayed bright and joyful. After that, we had a short hondokhae session, giving us a chance to reflect spiritually and align our hearts before moving into the bonding activities.

Art & Craft Activity

Our first group activity was art and craft, beautifully prepared and led by Sister Shiho. She not only gave clear, step-by-step instructions but also designed her own slides to guide the session. Her teaching was engaging and easy to follow, making the activity enjoyable and meaningful for everyone. The session allowed us to express creativity, interact with one another, and appreciate the effort that went into preparing it.

Kimbap Tutorial & Hands-On Session

After the art and craft activity, we transitioned to the much-anticipated kimbap tutorial. Sister Tiffany demonstrated how to make kimbap, explaining how to roll a kimbap, from spreading the rice evenly on the seaweed sheet, to arranging the fillings neatly, to rolling it tightly and slicing it. Her instructions were simple, clear, and encouraging.

Following the demonstration, each YG member had the chance to prepare their own kimbap roll. The room was filled with laughter and excitement as everyone tried their hand at rolling. Some rolls turned out neat, others a little unique, but all were made with joy. Afterwards, we shared and ate our creations together, celebrating both the food and the fellowship.

Conclusion

The “Annyeong Korea” bonding day was truly a success. It gave everyone not only the chance to learn new skills but also to deepen friendships and enjoy the warmth of community. The smiles, laughter, and shared experiences will surely remain in our hearts, inspiring us for future gatherings.
