On June 18, 2026, a significant providential milestone was achieved in Northern Mindanao through the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mindanao State University–Naawan (MSU-Naawan) and the Women’s Federation for World Peace, Inc. (WFWPI), in cooperation with the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP). This landmark event represents not only an institutional partnership but also a substantial advancement in the realization of Heavenly Parent’s vision for peace-centered education and community transformation.

The MOU signing was conducted in the prestigious Board Room of the University Chancellor, signifying the high level of trust, respect, and commitment accorded to the partnership. Representing MSU-Naawan were University Chancellor Dr. Elnor Caseres Roa, Institute Planning and Development Head Dr. Desheree Judena Preciado, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning and Initiatives and Chancellor’s Assistant Professor Frederick Cabactulan, together with six more distinguished university officials.

Representing the providential organizations were Professor Juvy Valdemoro Delmonte, National President of WFWPI Philippines;  witnessed by the following important personalities and collaborators like Mr. Jun Young Teves, Director of the Future Generation Department of the Philippines; Dr. Janet Kabayama, GenSec of WFWPI Phils.,  Prof. Bernadette Alavazo, WFWPI National Capital Region President, & TUP PE Head; Mr. Errol Delmonte, CEO of Digitribe; Ms. Sachie Mitsumoto, FGD Area Coordinator for Mindanao; Mrs. Sylvia Deapera of FFWPU -Northern Mindanao; Mr. Nelson Arca Jr., FFWPU Coordinator of Iligan City; and Shin Hui Jin, HanFil 2nd Gen elder representing the Young Women for Peace.

From a providential perspective, this event embodied the harmonious cooperation between WFWPI and IAYSP, representing the Mother-Son partnership that has been continuously emphasized within the movement led by our True Parents. Through this united effort, both organizations were able to present a comprehensive vision of peacebuilding that resonated deeply with the aspirations of the university leadership.

The partnership is mutually beneficial and strategically significant for both parties. For MSU-Naawan, the collaboration serves as an important step toward strengthening and validating its aspiration to become recognized as the “Peace University of the Philippines.” Through the support and programs of WFWPI and IAYSP, the university gains access to a global network dedicated to character education, peacebuilding, leadership development, family values, and community engagement.

For WFWPI, IAYSP, and ultimately the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), the partnership creates a sustainable platform through which young leaders, faculty members, and community stakeholders can be engaged in the values and principles that contribute to lasting peace. It further strengthens the witnessing environment by establishing meaningful relationships with academic institutions and influential leaders who share a common vision for nation-building and human development.

This historic achievement did not emerge overnight. Rather, it is the fruition of a sustained relationship that began in March 2026 during the Women’s Month Celebration, where initial connections and dialogues were established between WFWPI and MSU-Naawan. Through consistent follow-up, sincere investment, and constructive discussions, the relationship steadily deepened.

A pivotal factor in bringing this vision to reality was the dedicated leadership and presentation of Professor Juvy Delmonte, whose commitment, wisdom, and ability to articulate the value of the partnership helped cultivate confidence among university leaders. Through months of communication, planning, and mutual understanding, the foundation was laid for this historic agreement.

Beyond the formal signing of documents, the event symbolizes a growing recognition among academic institutions of the relevance of peace-centered leadership, family values, and character education in addressing the challenges of modern society. It demonstrates how genuine partnerships founded upon common values can create pathways toward sustainable peace and social transformation.

As we reflect upon this milestone, we recognize the invisible hand of Heavenly Parent guiding each step of the journey. What began as a simple engagement during Women’s Month has now blossomed into a formal institutional partnership capable of impacting generations of students and future leaders.

The historic MOU signing in the morning was immediately followed by a dynamic and highly successful Peace Designer’s Orientation, held at the University Auditorium, further amplifying the impact of the day’s accomplishments. The orientation gathered approximately one hundred participants composed of University Student Supreme Government officers, Federated Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the Municipality of Naawan, in-school and out-of-school youth leaders, as well as senior high school students. The diversity and quality of the participants reflected the growing influence of the peace movement among emerging leaders and stakeholders in the community. 

Demonstrating her unwavering support for the partnership, University Chancellor Dr. Elnor Caseres Roa once again graced the program and delivered an inspiring message to the participants. In her remarks, she reiterated her profound appreciation for the MOU that had been signed earlier that day and expressed her sincere optimism regarding the opportunities that this collaboration would bring to the university and the wider community. She further encouraged all student representatives and youth leaders present to give their full attention and open hearts to the presentation, recognizing its potential to shape their leadership journey and contribution to society.

The orientation proceeded with great enthusiasm and engagement as participants were introduced to the vision and mission of the Peace Designer initiative. The program reached a victorious conclusion through a vibrant and intellectually stimulating Question-and-Answer session, where participants raised thoughtful inquiries regarding peacebuilding, leadership, and youth engagement. These questions were answered with clarity, wisdom, and confidence by the program’s keynote presenter, Director Jun Young Teves, whose eloquence and depth of understanding resonated strongly with the audience.

The positive response from the participants was unmistakable. The orientation culminated in a resounding commitment from student leaders and youth representatives to actively prepare for the upcoming university-wide Synergy Competition. Their enthusiastic reception signified not only the success of the orientation itself but also the establishment of a strong foundation for future collaboration, leadership development, and peace-centered initiatives within MSU-Naawan and the broader Northern Mindanao region.

From a providential perspective, the successful conduct of both the MOU signing and the Peace Designer’s Orientation on the same day represents a remarkable alignment of institutional leadership and youth empowerment. While the morning’s MOU established the formal framework for cooperation, the afternoon’s orientation brought that vision directly to the next generation of leaders, creating a tangible pathway through which the ideals of peace, character, and service can be translated into meaningful action.
