The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Philippines held a significant Unified Sunday Service and Leadership Transition Ceremony of the outgoing Regional Director, Rev. Ronnie D. Sodusta and incoming Regional Director, Rev. Leo Angelo Halog, on June 14, 2026, at the FFWPU Metro Manila Church in Quezon City, Philippines and via Zoom. The gathering brought together a total of 1,221 attendees, composed of leaders, blessed families, and members nationwide.
The event became a meaningful occasion to celebrate the service and dedication of the outgoing leadership while welcoming the incoming leadership with hope, gratitude, and renewed determination to advance Heavenly Parent and True Parents’ providence in the Philippines.
The Unified Sunday Service began with uplifting musical performances offered by the Antipolo Music Ministry, creating an atmosphere of praise and reflection. The service also included scriptural reading and special messages delivered by Heavenly Asia Pacific Continental Director Rev. Yutaka Yamada and Vice Continental Director Dr. Julius Malicdem.
Rev. Yutaka Yamada, Continental Director for Heavenly Asia Pacific, delivered a message emphasizing the significance of leadership rooted in humility, responsibility, and sincere devotion to Heavenly Parent’s providence. He expressed his deep appreciation for the faithful service and leadership demonstrated by Rev. Ronnie D. Sodusta during his tenure as Regional Director of the Philippines. At the same time, he warmly welcomed Rev. Leo Angelo T. Halog and encouraged the community to unite in supporting the new mission and responsibility entrusted to him.
Following the message, video messages from leaders and members expressing gratitude to Rev. Ronnie Sodusta for his service, particularly his nationwide church visitations and Moshim workshops was shown.
During his gratitude message, Rev. Ronnie Sodusta reflected on his leadership journey and shared that he recognized the limitations of solving challenges alone. He emphasized that the Philippines needs a church centered on community, healing, and love. He expressed confidence that Rev. Leo Angelo Halog would continue cultivating this direction and sincerely thanked all members and leaders who supported him throughout his one-year Regional leadership journey. Following his remarks, Rev. Sodusta and his family were presented with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of their service and dedication.
The Leadership Transition Ceremony formally continued with the presentation of the Certificate of Appointment to Rev. Leo Angelo T. Halog as the new Regional Director and National Leader for the Philippine Region from the World Mission Headquarters through Rev. Yutaka Yamada and Dr. Julius Malicdem.
In his inaugural address, Rev. Leo Angelo Halog expressed heartfelt gratitude to his wife and family for their unwavering support throughout his mission journey. He emphasized the importance of collective ownership, unity, and cooperation among leaders and blessed families in accomplishing the goals set by True Mother and Heavenly Parent. He called upon the entire community to work together to bring success not only to the Philippines but also to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Heavenly Asia Pacific region.
Congratulatory messages were also delivered by Dr. Julius Malicdem, Vice Continental Director of Heavenly Asia Pacific, and Rev. Kim In Cheon, President of HJ Cheonbo Asia Pacific Branch. Dr. Malicdem highlighted the often unseen sacrifices of leaders’ wives and encouraged all participants to “bloom wherever they are planted,” regardless of difficulties and circumstances. Meanwhile, Rev. Kim In Cheon emphasized the spiritual responsibilities and opportunities that lie ahead for the Philippine region and encouraged members to continue moving forward with faith and unity.
The ceremony concluded joyfully through cake-cutting, singing, and a recessional march, followed by commemorative photo. The entire gathering became not only a formal leadership transition but also a meaningful celebration of gratitude, continuity, and renewed commitment to building a community centered o Heavenly Parent united with the providence of our beloved True Mother, our Holy Mother Han.
